About Don

Welcome to Foster Wholeness! I’m Don Foster—a seasoned Spiritual Healer, Counselor, Licensed Massage Therapist, and Teacher with nearly 40 years of experience helping people reconnect with their True Nature and inner power.

Background: I became a Reiki Master in 1996 and an ordained minister three years later. Even before then, I dedicated my life to the transformative power of spiritual healing, for myself and others. My exploration began in a small town in Connecticut, where I learned to meditate from the flow of the river near my childhood home. From there, I developed a lifelong pursuit of inner peace. Sitting quietly by the river in the woods, I came to understand the how to let go, how to listen for the profound wisdom of nature and how to feel the deep interconnection of all things.

In my 20s, I discovered a natural gift for massage. It became clear that I wasn’t just easing physical tension—I was helping people release emotional blockages stored deep within the body. I was helping people break through blocks that veiled their connection to all that is. Over the next 15 years, I worked with clients in California and Missouri, supporting them through deep, often life-changing healing experiences.

Like the river that changes course, my career has taken many turns. In 1999, I completed my ministerial training and spent 17 years as co-minister with my wife, first in Virginia and then in Ontario, Canada. Then the river twisted again for my love for massage therapy continued its call to me throughout my years of church service. Now, after years away, I’ve returned to massage therapy with renewed passion, new skills, and greater wisdom, ready to incorporate all my gifts of Reiki, massage and counseling into this new ministry – Foster Wholeness.

Family: Whenever I return to Connecticut to visit my father, I try to stop by the river that helped shape my inner stillness. Its familiar flow feels like an old friend – we just pick up where we left off, sitting, listening, blending into each other.  We’ve both slowed with time, though.

My children stayed in Canada when my wife and I returned to the States. They grew up there. It is more home to them than here, the place of their birth. They are happy and have lives that make me happy for them. Life carried my wife and I back to Kansas City and we have new paths to follow. Our hearts still look to the north and we hope that one day we’ll return and be close to our children. Time will tell.

For now . . .

Holistic Approach: My healing work, rooted in gentleness, compassion, and acceptance continues to blossom. Drawing inspiration from the Stillness within, Buddhism, Native Spirituality, and New Thought teachings, I travel a holistic path that honors the spiritual essence within all people.

As I work, I invite our spirit friends to participate in the work for our highest good. Every tool that I use touches the body, mind, and spirit to helping to restore a deep sense of the wholeness that is our True Nature.
